映画キャットウーマンのハルベリーさんが妊娠したそうです。
46歳、自然妊娠。
ご本人は月経も不規則になり、もう妊娠しないと思っていたそうで、予想外のおめでた。うらやましいですね。
でも、記事を読んでいて面白かったのは、彼女は「old-fashioned way（昔の方法、古いやり方・時代遅れのやり方等の意味）」で妊娠した、と書かれてあったこと。
この年齢になると、不妊治療なしの妊娠がいかに珍しいか、ということになりますね。
また、プレ更年期で排卵が不規則になっていても、良い卵さえ排卵されれば、妊娠の可能性はある、ということです。
年齢が高くなると妊娠の可能性が低くなるのは事実でありますが、それは、卵が育たない、採れない、受精がうまくいかない、分割が悪い、など、移植にまで至らないことも増えてきます。
だからこそすぐに結果を焦らずに、年単位で考えなければなりません。
不妊治療の助成金の支給に年齢制限を設けようという動きがありますが、ちょっと待った、と思いますね。
いずれにせよ我々は「state-of-the-art way(最新の方法)」で、皆さんの妊娠に取り組みたいと思います！
Halle Berry’s pregnancy was a “surprise.” What are the odds?

“This has been the biggest surprise of my life to tell you the truth,”
Berry told CNN on Monday.
She added: “I feel fantastic.”
Berry, who confirmed her pregnancy to press on Friday, revealed that it just,
well, happened the old fashioned-way―no planning involved.

“As ovulation becomes irregular, your ability to conceive decreases.
However, as long as you’re having periods, pregnancy remains a
possibility,” the experts at the Mayo Clinic explain
“If you wish to avoid pregnancy, use birth control until you’ve had no
periods for 12 months.”
Berry is reportedly just three months along; according to TMZ,
the actress was feeling sick and complaining that she had gained a little
weight in late February, when she appeared at the Oscars in a body-hugging
metallic-and-black dress by Versace — which hinted at a tiny bit of a belly.
