In the case of natural pregnancy, the fertilized egg that has been fertilized in the fallopian tube releases factors that stimulate the uterine lining as it grows, creating an environment in which the embryo can easily implant in the endometrium.
There are methods called "two-step embryo transfer" and "SEET method" that focus on this effect, but they have drawbacks such as multiple births, early embryos, and the need to freeze the culture medium.
The “Oak Clinic SEET Method” is a method unique to our hospital that can improve these shortcomings and can be expected to have the same effect as the SEET method.
By using the special culture medium improved by our hospital, you can expect the same effect as the embryo culture medium.
SEET method, two-stage embryo transfer
Oak Clinic SEET Method
We understand that the implantation environment will be prepared by cross talk of the embryo and endometrium.
The embryo generates a factor that stimulates the endometrium and by that stimulation the endometrium will change condition to one that is easy to implant for the embryo.
There is a method called the 2 Step Embryo Transfer that is performed in order to increase the embryo receptivity of the endometrium.
An initial embryo is transferred on Day 2, and when the implantation environment has been prepared by the factor derived from the embryo, a blastocyst will then be transferred on Day 5.
In addition, there are reports saying that there are embryo derived factors within the culturing that cultures the embryo by accelerating the embryo receptivity of the endometrium.
The SEET Method (Stimulation of Endometrium Embryo Transfer) is said to get the same effect as the 2 Step Embryo Transfer by a method in which instead of transferring an early stage embryo on Day 2, only the culturing fluid used to culture the embryo is injected into the uterus, and then a blastocyst is transferred on Day 5, allowing for an increased embryo receptivity of the endometrium by the embryo derived factors found within the embryo culturing fluid.
SEET is an alternative method to the 2 Step Embryo Transfer, it’s also recommended from the viewpoint of preventing multiple births, but in order to carry out this method during the thawed embryo transfer cycle, there is a drawback that the freezing of an early stage embryo is required.
Oak Clinic’s SEET Method uses a special culturing fluid that has been improved by our clinic in order to overcome this drawback.
In this culturing fluid there have been various materials involved with cross talk added, and the same effect as embryo culturing fluid can be expected.
Since there is no need to freeze early stage embryos for SEET Method, you will be able to:
①Efficiently select and freeze only blastocysts of good condition.
②Restrain costs to a minimum of freezing / cryopreservation / thawing.
Since the end of 2017, we have had several patients with repeat implantation failure (patients that have tried embryo transfers 6 or more times without achieving pregnancy) that used this method resulting in implantation.
