To reduce the burden on patients and as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have decided to change the method of determining pregnancy during treatment.
Until now, at our hospital, we have determined pregnancy after embryo transfer by checking blood hCG at the 4th week and 0th day of pregnancy.
This method requires a waiting time of at least 30 minutes until the test results are obtained, and depending on the outpatient situation, it may take an hour or more after blood collection.
Therefore, in the future, we will change to urinary hCG quantification (urinary pregnancy reaction) as of 4 weeks and 4 days of pregnancy.
Urine pregnancy tests can be completed at home.
Please use the test kit you receive to test at 4 weeks and 4 days of pregnancy.
If the result is positive, hormone supplementation must be continued.
The urine pregnancy test kit you will receive has a detection sensitivity of hCG 25mIU/ml, so you will not miss a positive result if testing on the appointed date.
If you are not sure about the result, continue hormone medications and perform the pregnancy test again the next day or the day after next.
Please inform the help desk of the result and make the next reservation.
Be sure to continue taking the medicines given in advance as instructed until specifically told to stop or change treatment.
If you have a positive pregnancy test, please make an appointment for an ultrasound examination for approximately 5 weeks and 0 days.
If you have a negative pregnancy test, please make an appointment for an online counseling.
Then you and the doctor will decide the next plan.
Depending on the situation, it may be necessary to determine pregnancy by collecting blood.
In that case, we will guide you individually, so please visit us and have an examination.
